Introducing Boost x S.E.E.D.S.
Toronto, ON – Announced on September 18th, S.E.E.D.S. launches its partnership with Boost, Boost x S.E.E.D.S., for the upcoming 2017-18 year. Boost is an application that utilizes social, financial stakes and data in order to help users to accomplish their health and fitness goals. It does this by employing the concept of loss aversion, where users are encouraged to achieve their goal within a deadline in order to win back their stake. At the end of every month, Boost donates a percentage of lost stakes to charity, such as S.E.E.D.S.
This is an exciting time for S.E.E.D.S. as it marks the first time our organization is involving the tech-sphere, moving into the realms of novel sectors. Aligned with our passion and advocacy for health and wellness, this collaboration aims to promote healthy, active living for Boost users while raising funds to support S.E.E.D.S. after-school programming across Toronto. Going into our sixth year since S.E.E.D.S.’s founding, we anticipate the partnership funding to provide stability, quality education in our existing programs and kindle an expansion of our programming across Ontario for the near future.
S.E.E.D.S. is continuing to secure further multi-sectored partnerships to promote the Science of Mental Health across Toronto and Ontario. Since being awarded the 2016 Youth Opportunities Fund from Ontario Trillium Foundation, we are striving towards a tech-progressive curriculum and aiming to bridge the gap between science and health through a tech lens. Through partnerships like Boost x S.E.E.D.S., we hope to inspire the youth across Ontario to understand how technology can be utilized as a tool to strengthen their community and encourage dialogue on mental health, social change and healthy living.
