when available at the organization or chapter level

What positions are we hiring for? 
  1. S.E.E.D.S. Outreach and Education Leaders (multiple)
  2. Scarborough Outreach Coordinator (1)
Outreach and Education Leaders  (15-20 positions at each chapter, non-executive) 
An ideal candidate has strong interpersonal skills, exceptional presentation skills, outgoing and enthusiastic. 
Must be a full-time or part-time student at an Ontario University
Undergraduates and graduate students are both encouraged to apply. 
Candidates must be available for in-person interviews in August or early September 2017. Under certain circumstances, Skype or phone interviews will be acceptable. 
Weekly commitment starting mid-September 2017 is 4-5 hours. Hours will fluctuate throughout the year. 
Must attend a mandatory information session that will be held in late May or early September 2017. 
Full-time duties will begin in September 2017. 
All successful applicants are required to attend a mandatory training session that will be held in early September 2017. 
Must consent to perform a vulnerable sector police check 
Responsibilities Include: 
Main role as an Education Facilitator will be to execute engaging classroom presentations to students aged 10-15 as part of the S.E.E.D.S. after-school program. 
Presentations will cover a wide variety of basic science (chemistry, physics, biology) and health topics. 
Must be present and on time for all participating workshops. Must be prepared with adequate preparation and knowledge of the material that will be covered during a given workshop. 
Must be available 3PM   5:00PM on at least 1 weekday for S.E.E.D.S. workshops. 
NOTE: this excludes travel time to and from schools. Individuals should allocate 30-45 
minutes for traveling to site(s). 
Leaders will be required to participate in planning and helping execute chapter events.  
Participate in focus groups, curriculum design/refinement meetings and strategic planning/goal setting meetings. 
Attend all general chapter meetings at respective campus 

Scarborough Outreach Coordinator (1 position available)


  • Candidate should be able to meet downtown Toronto every two weeks with occasional conference calls.
  • This position requires approximately 5-10 hours a week time commitment. Workload will fluctuate throughout the year.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills required.
  • Candidate must be very organized, have excellent project management skills and be team player.

Duties/ Responsibilities:

  • Establish a minimum of 4 programs in schools within dedicated region of Toronto. Programs should be focused on students in Gr. 5 – 8.
  • Establishing programs will require setting up meetings with principals/vice-principals, talking about the S.E.E.D.S. programs and
  • Develop a coherent promotions plan with the goal of enrolling 15-20 students at each program within the schools
  • Transfer programs to the chapter you will be working with and ensure the smooth execution of each program from start to end.
  • Maintain close relationships with all school contacts in order to continue programs year after year.
  • Downtown Toronto Outreach Coordinator will work closely with S.E.E.D.S. – UTSG, Scarborough Outreach Coordinator will work closely with S.E.E.D.S. – USTC and North Toronto Outreach Coordinator will work closely with S.E.E.D.S. – YorkU

  • August – November, February – April

Any other information:

  • A small honorarium will be given to compensate for the work performed.
