Weekly after-school program for children aged 9-14
The after school program implements the S.E.E.D.S. curriculum that focuses on 4 areas of a healthy lifestyle (mental health, nutrition, oral health, and physical activities) through a scientific lens, within an 8 week span.
Modules for children aged 9-11 run for 1.5 hours and implement the 4 areas of the S.E.E.D.S. curriculum (mental health, nutrition, oral health, and physical activities). Workshops are held during the course of both the school year and summer holiday. They are supervised by trained University of Toronto undergraduate volunteers and executives.
Modules for children aged 11-14 run for 2.5 hours, once a week. Students are placed into groups to propose a healthy active plan for the community, based upon the 4 aspects of the S.E.E.D.S. curriculum, at an “Open House” at the end of the program. Their proposals are facilitated by high school students in the area that are enrolled in the parallel educational leadership program. All programming is supervised by trained University of Toronto undergraduate volunteers and executives.
